The central theme of this team is the characterization of flows during the forming of composites as well as the nondestructive evaluation along the process and on the final product, or the surveillance of the composite aging.
The works are centered on :
- Characterization of the fabrication process (choice, architecture of a composite constituents, understanding of the mechanisms underlying the impregnation and the saturation of support pieces) as long as it may influence the thermal-mechanic properties of the final composite
- Characterization of composite or metallic materials through detection and identification of micrometric defects of diffuse spatial repartition (porosity, aging) or of millimetric defects that are well localized (slit, deformation). The structures may be isotropic, composites, simple or assembled.
